Chris Hemsworth Just Shared His Favorite Pre-Workout Shake Recipe

Chris Hemsworth has diligently documented his increasingly huge gains over the last two years on his Instagram, sharing clips of his workouts and even demonstrating accessible exercise routines with the help of his trainer Luke Zocchi and stunt double Bobby Holland Hanton.

The actor has also been offering up some recipes taken from his Centr health and fitness app, including a protein-packed lamb and vegetable soup. In a recent video on Instagram, Hemsworth (along with Zocchi and Hanton) prepares another treat: a chocolate espresso protein shake which promises to give you the energy boost you need to get after it in the gym, Thor-style.

“You’ll love this one, boys, this is a choc espresso smoothie,” Hemsworth says. “One of my favorite snacks, also a little pre-workout drink if you want, because you’ve got the caffeine, healthy carbs, all the goodness.”

Hemsworth and Zocchi throw the following into a blender and mix: ice, frozen bananas, oats, protein powder, coconut coffee, cacao, and almond milk. “It’s like ice cream,” says the Thor: Love and Thunder star. “Easy to make, shot of coffee in there for energy.”

Zocchi and the rest of Hemsworth’s team had to get extra creative with the shake recipes during the filming of Love and Thunder last year: he was eating up to 10 meals every single day in order to keep those hulking muscles in place. “Every third meal he’d just be so over food so I’d bring him a protein shake with a double scoop of protein, banana, almond butter, two dates, and a bit of salt just to give him a break from eating,” Zocchi said.
