If you’re anything like most people in the world, you are probably always crunched for time. I believe that staying in shape is something that we need to commit and and make time for, no matter what! However, if you don’t have time to commute to the gym, you may want to start doing your ab exercises at home.
Having a gym membership (and actually using it) can give you access to a lot of equipment you probably just don’t have lying around at your house. If you start doing your ab exercises at home, you will miss out on the benches and cables that you may use at the gym, but you can still get an awesome ab workout if you know what you’re doing.
There are many exercises that you can do at home that will strengthen your abs and your whole core. If you’re sick of laying on the ground while doing your ab workouts, here’s a couple cheap equipment ideas that can give you some variety.
- An exercise ball – these big bouncers are very useful and can give you a whole new workout routine alone. They are also very handy to have around to use as a chair in front of your computer or TV (helps a lot with posture)
- Medicine Balls & Dumbbells – You can use these to add weight to your crunches or your ball sit ups, or any other ab exercise that requires you to lift your body skyward.
- Pull up bar – You can get these cool little pull up bars that hook on one of the door frames inside your house. You can use this for different ab exercises like knee and leg raises.
With just a couple pieces of cheap equipment you can get amazing results by doing your ab exercises at home. Plus they will give you a ton of variety so you will never get bored with what you’re doing. Just keep your eyes open and be willing to learn new things.
